“Belief in the True Presence of our Lord in the Eucharist has diminished in recent years, even among Catholics. The relationship between the Church and the Sacrament of the Lord’s body and blood is a great mystery. This Eucharistic Congress is an opportunity for us to deepen our understanding of the mystery of Jesus’ presence.

Bishop Mulvey wrote in his 2020 Pastoral Letter, as preparations were being made for the Eucharistic Congress, “Sisters and brothers, the Eucharistic presence of the Lord is a gift we have received from the hands of Jesus. It is the source and summit of the Church’s life and of every Christian’s missionary activity. For that reason, the Eucharist is the very heartbeat of the Church; without the Eucharist, the Church could not exist nor bring us together in unity.”

We look forward to growing in community as a diocesan family of faith and sharing the beauty of the Eucharist with everyone. This is an exciting opportunity to come together as the Body of Christ as we can learn more about our faith and grow deeper in love with Jesus in the Eucharist who is the source and summit of our lives.”
