Weekly Inspiration: Living in the Victory

by | May 1, 2026

The Church teaches that God created us to know, love, and serve Him, and ultimately, to be happy with Him in heaven for all eternity. We are made to be “partakers in the divine nature.” (2 Pt. 1:4) However, this calling and journey can often be difficult—and may even cost us our lives. We are not simply called to be “good people”; we are called to “be perfect. . . as your heavenly Father is perfect.” (Mt. 5:48)

At times, the world, the flesh, and the devil’s distractions can overwhelm us. Especially today, there is a constant temptation to pursue things of the flesh, and it can feel like a hopeless battle against the onslaught around us. If you feel that way right now, know that you are not alone. Jesus desires to take away the anxiety and fear that can come with striving to live a life for Him, because He has already won the battle.

Jesus Christ crucified is victorious and will reign over sin and death forever. He has endured all the fear, anxiety, pain, isolation, and even shame that we have experienced and will ever experience. All we must do is surrender to his infinite love and mercy.  Through this life, we must keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and constantly turn to Him for his grace.
